Annual Parish Meeting Minutes 1st June 2026

MINUTES OF THE ROPSLEY AND DISTRICT ANNUAL PARISH MEETING, HELD AT ROPSLEY HALL ON MONDAY 1ST JUNE 2026

 

  1. WELCOME

The meeting commenced at 7.00pm.Councillor Ward chaired the meeting by virtue of his office as Chairman of Ropsley and District Parish Council.He welcomed those present, who included Parish Councillors Hughes, Vaughan, Leslie, Henderson and Louth, Councillor Trotter (SKDC) and Councillor Hill (LCC), and Andrew Jones, the Parish Clerk.

 

  1. APOLOGIES

Apologies for absence were received from Councillor Campbell.

 

  1. MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL PARISH MEETING 2025

Councillor Hughes proposed that the Clerk’s notes of the Annual Parish Meeting held on 19th May 2025 be approved as a true record, which was seconded by Councillor Vaughan.

  1. CHAIRMAN’S REMARKS

The Chairman remarked that there had been a number of projects that the Parish Council had completed this year. These included the Christmas Tree, Coronation Orchard, Bulb Planting, as well as The Newsletters and Annual Calendar Competition.

The Chairman also thanked all the volunteers for their hard work and contribution during the past year including

Nathan Coyle, Heather and Roger Charles.

 

  1. PRESENTATION OF REPORTS BY VILLAGE ORGANSATIONS

 

Ropsley and District Churches

Councillor Ward reported that we have not had a resident vicar for the last year.

There will be an Oversight Minster installed to cover the North Beltisloe Parish and Parishes near Colsterworth. This is a total of 16 Parishes. This role is not a Parish Vicar and will probably be in place in 2027.

Following the quinquennial survey, some refurbishment work is being carried out at the Church – this is maonly stonework under the Stewardship Programme.

There were no personal representations.

The Chairman thanked those present for their attendance and closed the meeting at 7.21pm.
