We are a thriving WI based in Ropsley and although the bulk of our membership are ladies from Ropsley, Humby, Sapperton and Braceby we have several members from much further afield and welcome anyone to our meetings where, under normal circumstances, we have educational speakers on a variety of topics as well as crafts and entertainment. There has been a WI in Ropsley for over 60 years, always with about 30 members, and we have a wide ranging membership from breast-feeding young mothers to ladies in their 90s so it is a great place to make friends.

We are an outward looking WI and we are passionate about our campaigns. As well as supporting the National WI campaigns, and our own local ones each year, we have had great success in collecting bras in support of Cancer Research, filling shoe boxes with Christmas presents for Operation Christmas Child, collecting supplies for the local Women's Refuge, and collecting food for the Food Bank.  Our local environmental campaign is also gaining momentum and ranges from litter picking around the villages to recycling crisp packets.

We help where we can in our local community and linked with the church and school prior to the pandemic to put on afternoon teas to help alleviate loneliness in the area. We also provided teas at the Village Scarecrow Picnic in 2019, and in 2020 we organised the VE75 celebration, the Ropsley Village Advent Calendar, and Community Christmas Gifts during the Covid lockdown.
